LUBRICATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION
Verify the cam chain slipper is installed. Install the oil pump assembly aligning the pump drive shaft boss with the groove in the bala ncer shaft. Also align the side plate tab with the cam chain slipper groove.
InstaH and tighten the oil pump mounting bolts.
Recheck the oil pump by turning the pump shaft right and Eeft.
Install the centrifugal clutch (page 8‘10). install the front crankcase cover (page 8-18).
RELIEF VALVE
DISASSEMBLY
Remove the front crankcase cover [page 83}.
Remove the relief valve cap, spring and valve.
INSPECTION
Inspect the relief valve and spring for wear or damage. Replace the relief valve and spring if necessary.
ASSEMBLY
Install the relief valve with the tong projection side facing in. Install the spring.
Apply a locking agent to the thread of the relief valve cap.
